City of Périgueux

Périgueux is the "capital" of the Dordogne, about 40 minutes drive from the Grands Gites du Périgord.

Founded over 2000 years ago, it is a mixture of old and new. The cobbled streets are lined with beautiful renaissance houses and shops, while shady squares and cafés host free jazz concerts in the evenings and a mime festival ("Mimos") in July and August .
